LE CHATEAU GUEST HOUSE and SELF CATERING north pas de calais FRANCE 4 ears bed and Breakfast as listed in the Gites of France, situated in the north pas de calais in a small village Saint Pierrebrouck in Flanders - Opal coast district 30 minutes from Calais, Dunkerque and Saint-Omer.
“Le château” is located in the heart of a small village on Flanders’ Opal Coast and is surrounded by grounds of lush greenery covering approximately 5 acres/2 hectares. This imposing bourgeois residence is notable for its height and its red brick construction typical of the “nord” region.
Completely renovated but retaining all of its authenticity, you’ll discover an elegant interior of antique and period furniture. Guests will be warmly welcomed by hosts Patrick and Nathalie into the spacious entrance hall opening onto lounges with restored parquet floors, moulded ceiling decorations and original painted fabrics which adorn the bow windows. Unwind in the conservatory and admire nature or simply enjoy the garden and its furniture in peace and relaxation.
The 5 bedrooms, fully equipped with all modern conveniences, can be found upstairs in the main residence. There are 3 rooms on the first floor and 2 on the second floor. All are appointed with antique and period furniture– beautiful wardrobes, dressing tables, tables, armchairs. You’ll find quality bed linen on queen and king sized beds and numerous ornamental items, including mirrors, clocks and various curios. Some rooms have four poster or canopy beds and all 5 of them are equipped with private facilities. Each one has its own bathroom, toilet and spacious shower. Guests also have mineral water and tea and coffee making facilities at their disposal.
Copious breakfasts, at separate or shared tables, are served in the lounges and the conservatory. Possibily to have dinner in a typical and friendly "brasserie" in the village ( 2 courses 11 euros/personne ) or restaurant in bourbourg (7kms by car)
Advice is also available on various tourist sights in the area: Explore the dunes and the coast in the “Platier d’Oye” Nature Reserve. ( 15 minutes by car) Walk between the 2 “Caps” ( the Cap Gris Nez and the Cap Blanc Nez) (30 minutes by car) Boulogne : old town and Nausicaa (40mns by car) Stroll in “Le Marais de St. Omer” ( the marshes of St. Omer) ( 20 minutes by car) Visit the fortified towns of Gravelines( 15 minutes by car) and Bergues (20 minutes by car)
Visit historical sites of the Second World War - La Coupole d’Helfaut ( German V2 rocket base) - Le Blockhaus d’Éperleques (Giant German bunker for preparation and launch of V2 rockets)
The towns of Arras, Lille, Le Touquet, Bruges( Belgium) and Ypres(Belgium) are all around 1 hour away.
“Le château” is just 30 minutes by car from the Calais Ferry Terminal and the Channel Tunnel and only 20 minutes from the Dunkirk Ferry Terminal CHECK IN 4 PM TO 1 AM CHECK OUT 6 AM TO 11 AM
